In spite of their harmful nature and rising prices, the best cigarettes
remain to be the most traded commodity in the world to date. It is
considered one of the largest industries on the planet, with a global
take of more than $400 billion. And combining all the sales in each
country, it is said that approximately 1 trillion pieces are traded
every year. The minimum acceptable age for smoking is 18 years old. But
it is said that, under the guidance and approval of parents or legal
guardians, minors may not be sanctioned when found guilty of this act.
With this loophole in place and the weak implementation of rules, it is
not surprising at all that kids as young as 10 are not afraid to engage
in the habit. The Unites States so far has the highest rate of smokers,
with the Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee having the biggest slice of the
pie. Here are the best cigarette brands that have been found to be most
commonly smoked in the country, in particular order:
First up,
we have Newport Menthols. This brand of cigarettes was introduced to the
market in 1957 and is produced in America’s backyard – Greensboro,
North Carolina. It owns about 35% of the menthol cigarette sales in the
U.S. and is quite popular among the African-American people. Those who
use it note a unique toothpaste-like aftertaste that makes the smoking
experience a little more interesting. Some find it too strange though.
And considering they are one of the most expensive brands, retailed at
$5 to $6 per stick, youths who start out with this merchandize tend to
switch to other brands in search for the best cigarettes for them.
One
of these alternatives is Camel cigarettes Lights. This is another American brand
created back in 1913 by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. It boasts of the use of
Turkish and Virginia tobacco, which gives it that solid smooth smoking
experience, with an added kick. And since it is light on the lungs, you
do not have to worry about getting choked up or smelling like ash after
you use them.
For the same price, you could also buy Marlboro Reds, a type of cigarette produced by Philip Morris USA. It is probably
one of the best cigarette brands known locally and internationally and
the most recognizable at that.
Back in the day, Marlboro was marketed as
a “lady’s” cigarette because of its design and variation in
ingredients. But after the lung cancer scare was brought up, they were
repositioned as an alternative to then strong cigarette brands, and were
marketed as a less risky substitute. This was discouraged by the courts
though, which is why instead of Marlboro medium (strength), it is now
known as Reds. Frequent users comment that this particular brand isn’t
that strong or that light, nor is it too chemical-tasting or hard to
draw on. It provides the most generic smoking experience and perhaps,
this is why it is considered one of the best cigarette brands.
Now
earlier, a reference to strong cigarette brands was made. This referred
to unfiltered and intensely concentrated packs of smokes that came in
the form of Lucky Strike cigs. This was again made by R.J. Reynolds
Tabacco and it served to contrast Camel. What makes it special from
other cigarette brands is that it is made of toasted rather than
sun-dried tobacco, making its taste more desirable. But for some folks,
Luckies come off as overwhelming, which why they are only commonly used by hard smokers.
